Gator and turtles

I'm posting here instead of the marine forum because I think this question is pretty local (mouth of the Mystic River or Thames, Fisher Island Sound?). Listening on marine channel 71 I'm hearing chatter that I think is concerning underwater rov's but I'm not sure. I'm guessing Gator is the main control boat and Loggerhead and Leatherback are the rovs, but there seems to be other boats involved. Does anyone know what affiliation these operations have? Private, military, Mystic Seaport?

In the absence of any “in-the_know” reply’s, continue listening and gather more tidbits of info. Conducting a “fox hunt” (triangulate direction finding) might pinpoint the location and allow for a visual on the operation but that takes some help and some attenuation gear.

Heard leatherback mentioned on 71 earlier today but nothing at all since. Thames River boat yard or club does use that channel for their water taxi hailing could they have been boat names ?

Could be boat names I guess. The more I listen the more it sounds like testing of some kind of devices, with mention of test plans laid out prior to what's going on out on the water.
