Most of the other sites still have the control channel on and buzzing (Simulcast 1; Marble Falls; Honeycomb; Burleson Manor; Shingle Hill) so don't count those out. They could be back active anytime. It's possible that these other sites are being used for data only. I just don't know what they are doing and why 851.2875 is listed as a 2nd control channel for site 7 yet it's the active control channel for Simulcast 1 and why the fill in sites are not needed for voice anymore. Expect more changes.

Here's another self-contradictory quirk of this system. The main simulcast sites (1, 7 and 20) report band plan #5 as 2 slot TDMA while the IR sites all report this plan as 1 slot FDMA.

The "IR" sites are probably Quantar w/PSC9600 controllers, which don't support or understand TDMA.

I can only pick up 857.96250 Williamson site perfect reception
I can't here anything on 852.7250 Honeycomb is silent, perfect reception..851.13750 Site 7 is too far away here in Leander, Osage Lakeline area..wish Simulcast 1 and site 7 would boost tower signals so we can listen in Leander..luckily I enjoy aircraft comms..ham radio, etc..is Honeycomb silent now? Not hearing aything..I used to enjoy TCSO Adam dispatch was always active..
Thanks for reading!!

I'm in Lago Vista and am hearing simulcast 7 851.1375 just fine. The fill in sites like Honeycomb have active control channels but no voice traffic anymore. Not sure what is going on but it may all change again.

APD Airport 41 just hit his emergency button by accident, dispatch called him and he responded. both transmissions were logged on siimulcast-1 on 853.125. other than that, i've been scanning simulcast-1 in ID search mode all day and haven't heard a peep.

Not sure what radio you have but if you are hearing stuff then leave it alone; Sentinel should update at 9am this morning so if you have an SDS 100 or 200 or HomePatrol you should update with Sentinel; The active site is site 7 so you can name it anything you want. but for now we are calling it simulcast 7; That might change

Can anyone else connect to Sim 1 now? It looks down now from where I am at. Truck tracker no longer lists Sim1 as an adjacent site, only sites 10 and 20.

While I see voice traffic on several of the site's frequencies, I detect no signal on the primary or secondary control channels from NW Austin (former Jollyville).

Am hearing on the TCSO and Constable channels that there will be radio maintenance today from 9:30am to noon, that radios may go down, particularly in the TCSO Adam (West Travis County) sector. Looks like more possible changes coming our way.

Also heard via the grapevine that Sim 1 and Sim 2 are indeed both being collapsed down to a single layer (what we are calling Sim 7 now) and additional bandwidth is being added. Source was non-technical on radio matters so take that for what its worth.

I just named in Simulcast 7 since it’s predecessors were named similarly on here. If it
does indeed stay this way we will probably rename it Austin Simulcast, or Travis County Simulcast depending on how the coverage pans out. They’ve got a plan it seems, just have to watch and see.

Prior to this new change, Simulcast 7, I believe I read where all Travis County GATRRS would fall under the old Simulcast 1. What site is being used for DT Austin? I will be traveling to Austin tomorrow. Well, I don't have anything to lose. I am going to program Simulcast 7 and throw craps.
