Here's another self-contradictory quirk of this system. The main simulcast sites (1, 7 and 20) report band plan #5 as 2 slot TDMA while the IR sites all report this plan as 1 slot FDMA.
They might be original to when the system was first installed - 20 years ago.The "IR" sites are probably Quantar w/PSC9600 controllers, which don't support or understand TDMA.
I’m on the Pflugerville site not simulcast 7 I haven’t updated my radio yet to simulcast 7
While I see voice traffic on several of the site's frequencies, I detect no signal on the primary or secondary control channels from NW Austin (former Jollyville). Can anyone else connect to Sim 1 now? It looks down now from where I am at. Truck tracker no longer lists Sim1 as an adjacent site, only sites 10 and 20.
I just named in Simulcast 7 since it’s predecessors were named similarly on here. If itAm hearing on the TCSO and Constable channels that there will be radio maintenance today from 9:30am to noon, that radios may go down, particularly in the TCSO Adam (West Travis County) sector. Looks like more possible changes coming our way.
Also heard via the grapevine that Sim 1 and Sim 2 are indeed both being collapsed down to a single layer (what we are calling Sim 7 now) and additional bandwidth is being added. Source was non-technical on radio matters so take that for what its worth.
Can somebody take picture of there simulcast 7 band plan
This covers most of the Ausitn area sites except downtown site 10.
