it's like a frequency counter unit, it catches frequency and stores them in memory......anyone knows what those units are called, or a web site to purchase them at.......i seen them up at seaside ham swap years ago....thanks.

thanks, well it like that but i think it was a frequency counter of some kind, because my Elmer use to go around and right frequency down when he seen cops transmitting, fire department, taxi cabs, car-to-car, it was a cool unit, it also saved like last 10 frequency.....

You can use the CloseCall feature of Uniden scanners which is called Spectrum Sweeper on GRE models. I know the GREs don't log, I am not sure if the Unidens do or not.
