So I just passed my element 1 and 3, how long is the normal turn around on the FCC's part? And once you pass element 8 what do they do about the endorsement?

It should only be a few days. The same as your ham license.
It depends on how long it takes the COLE to send it to the FCC for processing.
I don't understand your question about Element 8. Did you allready pass it?
All they do is print "Ship Radar Endorsement" on the license under "Special Conditions/Endorsements".
I suppose if you pass it later on they just send you a new license and update you in the database.

Well I haven't taken element 8 yet, I have a couple FAA test to study for first but in about a month I think I'll be ready to take it. Anyway thanks.

In case anyone wants to know; I used RadioTelephone Tutor to prepare for my GROL exams.

It also helps prepare for the Ship Radar Endorsement exam.
