General Scanning Forum suggestion

It seems more logical to me to have the General Scanning Forum as the lead forum under Topic Specific Forums, as there is already a catch-all forum (All Other Receivers) under the Scanners & Receivers category.

The instructional paragraph for GSF needs revision, too, regardless of whether or not it is moved.

Or eliminate it altogether.

Eliminating it may result in threads streaming into proper categories when the poster must choose the appropriate forum title, rather than "plunking" it into a forum that attracts miscellany.

I'll look in to making changes. GenScan will continue to exist since it does still serve a purpose.

Perhaps I was a mite bit hasty.
After I read your response, I took a look at thread titles to see if they were relevant to the GenScan forum.
When I saw this title, CTCSS/DCS PL/DPL and Scanning , I realized there is still a need for a General Scanning Forum.

And I prefer the scanner comparisons from different manufacturers to be put in GenScan. That way the OP doesn't get a biased opinion.
