Okay - we're still on the pager, remember? You can't have a magmount strapped to your belt.

What's wrong with simulcasting over a vhf/uhf freq to a pager? Seems like a digital trunking pager is an answer to a question that no dept has asked...

I see a big problem with it anyway - Is each pager going to have a radio id number and affiliate with a tower? You might as well just have an xts2500/3000/5000 with you instead of a pager.

Just to be clear Fenton City Fire still tones out on 155.820 VHF but because of the way that the Fenton City Dispatch is setup everything that goes over VHF from dispatch comes over 800 so you hear the tones on 800. For that matter everything dispatch says can always be heard on both 800 and VHF but if a firefighter keys up on VHF you don't hear it on 800. The dispatch radio's have a continues patch between VHF and 800.

I too have a Pro-106, Pro-96, Pro-2096 and the BCD396XT and none of them work very well when driving around the county at 90%. There are places that it works great like up in Mt Morris and in the Flushing area but in Flint Township and Davision and or in the City of Flint it sucks because the scanner picks up more than one tower at the same time and breaks up really bad or just goes silent.

Happy scanning.
