Does anyone know if Genesee County has made any recent changes to their radio system? Digital/trunking/etc? Our scanners have gone dead, and other than a comment from an officer that said "they changed something," nobody seems to know why.

Any help would be appreciated.

I checked my scanner. There was not much talk going on, but there was some at the time of my reply. I am using a BCT-8, so they are not using digital.

I no for a fact they have not gone digital what so ever. They have no plans to do it either. Tell me what TIG's you are using.

Rebanding is a possibility, although Genesee County's frequencies are already in the proper range.

The "regular rules" of rebanding do not apply to licensees in the Canadian border areas. There is a different plan for that area.
Look up their license at the FCC and check for new frequencies.

I have been advised by one of my informants in the area that there have been no changes to the Genesee County system. If your scanner has "gone dead," then perhaps the scanner is broken - or something has gone wrong with the antenna.
