Georgetown County, SC

I in Georgetown and live in Horry County. Georgetown County was just suposed to have gone active 800. I've checked the info on the website, but unable to find a control channel. I've also checked the Palmetto 800 freqs for georgetown county and again no control channel.

On the simplex non trunked side I've heard the SD talking momentarillay.

Does anyone have info that might sovle this mystery and any ID's known?

Georgetown Co. SD has indeed switched to the Palmetto 800. You will be able to hear their transmissions by monitoring Cell 39 (Georgetown). The active control channel is 868.6875. 868.075 is the alternate control channel for that cell. Their talkgroups are listed on the Palmetto 800 page in the radio reference database.

Evan and I have noted during visits to the Northern part of Georgetown Co. (Pawleys/Litchfield area) that the signal from the Georgetown site is pretty poor on our scanners. That area seems to be a little bit of a "hole" for monitoring Palmetto 800, as it's between the coverage area of the Conway and Georgetown sites.

There are 2 pink dots on the Palmetto 800 map (on the Palmetto 800 page of this site) that might indicate future sites (possibly simulcast?) but they don't appear active at this time.
