Is Germantown PD now on MCSO's system?? are they just patch groups or are they now fulltime ops on MCSO system?

No they are not on the Montgomery County system. They have been given talkgroups to use, but they have not purchased any 800 MHz radios yet.
It maybe quite awhile before they can afford to purchase any. The talkgroups were set up for them in advance of them joining the system.

The same thing goes for Jefferson Township Fire.
They are patching 151.2200 for toning out from 33.7000 and
the audio sounds horrible. It will be a nice change when they
finally join the MC system.

If any of you have had the ability to see what a piece of patchwork JTFD's system is you would wonder why it even works. A receive site on a 30' tower at the rear of a fire station on West Third St, then a UHF remote link not even on a Yagi, that signal is picked up by yet another dipole antenna, about halfway up a silo. on S. Union Rd accross from United Fireworks. The main transmitter antenna is on top of the same silo. And if memory serves me correctly the transmitter sets inside of an out building on the floor. When thye switch over to 800 it will be like going from string and tin cans for the department. When JTPD was still arounf before MCSO took over, the officers had to hold there HT's up in the air to communicate with dispatch as the dispatch antenna was only about 30 feet in the air. Oh for the good ole days!
