I've been using a Pro-2035 with the Opto535 board for over a decade (and loving it), but I've always wanted to own a Bill Cheek "ultimate scanner" so I recently picked up a Pro-2006 & CE-232 and started to fool around with it. Everything I've read online didn't give me a lot of hope that I'd be able to get the original CE232 software to work with a modern computer, but I'm happy to report that I'm running the DOS program in Windows XP on a 2.8 GHz Pentium without a hitch! I run WinThrottle to slow the whole system way down, which makes it pretty much useless for anything else, but I'm happy that I can use the CE232 program (which I found on the Internet) on a modern computer.
Anyone else still using the Pro-2006 & CE-232?
