Getting out of all radio but aircrAft

So I just loadeD up th CB stuff for goodwill and programmed the acars freq in the scanner I read you have to go through manually because it doesn't here a synch tone and I put in all 15 available I'm in north west mi I can hear milwaki occasional.if any one wants to heplease a guy get a start in acars please help. I'm using a ws1025 for acars and an iPad to decode (hopfuLily) I ordered a Chinese air radio but it won't be here for some time it's a tso I bought that caus I didn't like all the extra options on my r2 I sold or my aor mini

You cant just scan in carrier squelch mode? I suppose you could cobble up a tone detector and and wire it accross the noise squelch somehow to stop scan. But it would have to react to the data as well.

Well thanks I mostly. Like listening to elevation and carrier while looking at plane. Finder and radar box but this experiment isn't working well

Is your receiver in the AM mode? APRS is FM while ACARS is AM as I recall. Also your antenna needs to be outside and away from any computer noise source.

Well it's in am and I can hear it synch but nothing decodes even put small squalch on that didn't help wow there my first hit

Looks like you got something;
To start, run the squelch wide open so not to miss any preamble. Also this might be a slow day for air traffic. You might also check the web for ACARS test files. They will be audio files with tones, you can load them in a smartphone and play them into your ipad to check settings. The levels of course will depend on your scanner audio levels.

Thanks for all the help ivested in a 125at and took out the mixer still learning but this scanner and my 909x along with my iPad are everywhere with me along with nesesory assessorys

No I lock out the data the problem is I'm in a low location and using an iPad or iPhone and have to have the volume just right
