Try the local news media. They will be monitoring everybody else and with some practice you can pick up quick leads from them.

KPRC CH. 2 NBC- 450.2875, 450.0875
KHOU CH. 11 CBS- 450.5125, 450.6125
Also CIMA (Channel Industries Mutual Aid) could get good if any plants are refineries have problems.
CIMA 1- 488.8875
CIMA 2- 489.0875
CIMA 3- 489.1125
Also if you are capable, you might key in Coast Guard maritime freqs, and their Mil Air (UHF AM)
I'll be hunkered down,, listening in Baytown, and there is not much that I can't hear. Good Luck

I believe the UHF Saltgrass link to that is 443.625 too. I think the UHF link gets better coverage than the VHF link. Anyways, those are the Skywarn guys who report ot NHS on that frequency to tell weather reports. They CAN unlink the two UHF and VHF links and make them seperate channels (I guess de-simulcast?).

Out of curiosity, have they given a mandatory evacuation order for the city of Houston or just surrounding areas? Just curious. Thanks...

Cities of Galveston & Baytown, along with Matagordorda and Wharton County have mandatory now or scheduled to come into effect.
Houston is encouraging evacs in flood prone areas (that covers a lot of their metro area) and looks like that will go mandatory by noon Thursday.
Saw a news report here in Dallas (yesterday) where they were sending Trinity Rail Express train equipment(normally commuter run between Dallas & Fort Worth) to Galveston to help pull out people without any other transportation. Two engines, 6 passenger cars, 900 capacity.
