Hi all, I work at this place which uses the DMR frequency of 463.4375 in East Baton Rouge, and I want to program my own radio which is the Motorola CP200d to connect to the frequency, but I don’t know the color code, SL, and Time slot. I’m not super familiar with DMR but I think that’s all I need, I already have the frequency, but need the rest. Could anyone scan the frequency and let me know the information to connect to the frequency? Thank you.

Your best bet is to talk with whomever is in charge of radio communications where you work. Use of color codes, etc is primarily for privacy and to reduce congestion

We get our radios preprogrammed directly from Motorola. So there isn’t someone who can decode the color codes, ect just by scanning on a police scanner or something?

Yes this is the best way to get the info needed.

Someone where you work has to know what the information is, they ordered the radios per licensing at your place of business.

All this being said, yes, if you get a properly equipped scanner, you should be able to tell all that information.

Whoever orders the radios from Motorola either already had a order sheet with the settings, or can request it from Motorola.

As a former employee of Motorola, I know they take their clients privacy as a serious matter. But the person authorized to order/communicate with them should be able to get that information.

The other way is safecracking;
that is trying different combinations until you crack it.

Some scanners will do this automatically, but like Motorola, wont reveal the settings

Your radio may or not work on system.

If RAS enabled to keep rouge radios off the system you will hard pressed to get your radio on the system. A lot of systems have this feature enabled for obvious ressons.

You really need to get with the person in charge of your work's radio system, as you really can't add any radios without their approval with a written letter authorized it The FCC license has the maximum number radio and other stuff and your workplace is responsible for it all. You really don't want to get in trouble at work with you trying to add your personal radio.

Plus a hobby radio website isn't really the place someone should be consulting to add a personal radio to a work radio system.

Forgot to add on my last comments.

With DMR each radio has an ID this ID shows up on all other radios when you transmit.

You would have no way to know radio ID format they use. Plus radio systems can be configured to only allow approved ids on them and could it could block ID not registered it. You could just get bonk and be unable to transmit or your radio can be inhibited and then it would need to.be sent to Motorola to unbrick and you may not get unbridled with it not being approved.
