Are Gig Harbor Police and fire on the trunked system? Thanks.

They are VHF. Gig Harbor PD is dispatched on Pierce County Sheriff West(155.640)...callsigns are Harbor xxx.

Gig Harbor Fire is dispatched on FireComm F-1. 153.890 and respond on FireComm F-2. West(154.355) if you Google Gig Harbor FD you can get the station assignments.

Hey, thanks for the reply! May I ask does the VHF comms for the county plan to move to the Trunking system ever? Be it when they go digital or what-not. Also, is the reason for sheriff not moving to 800 Mhz because of coverage issues? Thanks,.

I'm sure that there are discussions to migrate to the Tacoma/Puyallup system. It's my understanding that in order for PCSD to move to the system, it will take a significant amount of money to build new towers to allow coverage around the county. As far as FireComm migrating, it will have to wait to be seen due to similar issues.
