Very little to no radio traffic on Gilbert PD with the exception of hot tones for Medical emergencies. Are the using MDT's only now, or cell phones? Anybody know?

Try doing an ID Search to see if they've moved most of their traffic to an encrypted channel.

I have heard a Gilbert PD unit call in on GPD Channel 01, but got no reply two days ago, other than that it still has been silent

Can confirm. Gilbert PD is now fully encrypted. All that’s left in the East Valley now is Chandler ( and I haven’t been hearing much of them at all either ) that’s in the clear. DPS is still clear as well both on UHF and AZWINS ( for now ).

Yep - totally forgot them. No news on when they will turn on “The Big E”. I’ve read several posts here from someone claiming that DPS will be going full encryption ( supposedly last week ). They are obviously still both in the clear and on UHF as well as AZWINS. Last I heard was sometime next year to have everything for full “E” for them but time will tell I suppose.

DPS has apparently gone to new encrypted TG's in D9 and D8, and their UHF channels down there have gone silent. It remains to be seen how long it takes for that to spread to other districts.
Metro West on AZWINS is still active as of late Saturday evening as I type this.
