I like the Walther with a few exceptions:
 • It's REALLY picky when it comes to ammo; I broke it in with CCI Stingers and MiniMags. It shoots those no problem, but get's hung-up on Walmart Remington "box" Ammo.
 • The problem is solved by using metal-jacket ammo- which is much more expensive
 • The barrel nut loosens every few magazines- solved w/ loctite though.

It's the best-feeling gun I've owned; you can't beat the ergonomics; I'm planning on getting a P99 QA Compact in 9mm.

Haha- the gun helps my radios and scanner sleep at night.

Sounds like the Walther P-22 is a good "plinker".

Remington .22 round noise (non jacketed) has graphyte or silicon
lube. I find it's very messy and many .22 semi auto's don't like it.

CCI Stingers and MiniMags semi cone bullets can be problematic
to shoot. It's great to here they aren't a problem with Walther P-22.
This, indeed, is a plus.

I am thinking of getting a "plinker" later this year.

Haha...That would be the GirlFriend- it took half a bottle of wine and some promises of a nice dinner date(s) with some of the ebay proceeds. I'm glad she puts up with all my radio business- she just asks the radio be turned off when she sleeps over ;-)

The P-22 is a great plinker- my buddy got the black one so I HAD to play the one-upsmanship angle and get the 2-tone. The only jamming I've had is with the Remingtons. The CCIs have yet to hiccup in the gun- plus they pack a nice punch for a .22

When I'm not in the mood to waste ammo with my .45, the 22 is cheap to shoot and just plain fun. Plus it's "cute" as my girlfriend says. It's also the only gun she's allowed to shoot at the moment...

My HK USP .45 Compact in action...sadly it's in Oregon right now.

This again confirms the appearant psychological connection between radio hobbyists, gun fanatics, railfans, and flashoholikcs. And do we have any Republicans in here by any chance?

like, KE4NYV, I have enjoyed glocks. I have had to Glock 21 .45. Sadly, they could not sustain the level of abuse from P+ .45ACP from Corbon. Bent extractors were just the beginning.

And, like, Mikegilbert I do like .45ACP.

However my favorate continues to be ... Ruger New Model .357 with a 4 5/8 inch barrel. The single action "cowboy" pistol isn't tactical friendly but, it's what I grew up (30+ years) on the farm with. I have "worn out" two of them.

That's not a scanner. I remember that eBay ad. I think Mike got a good price for his XTS3K. Some of the dialog in the "Ask the buyer a question" section were priceless.

I'm partial to rifles myself - but yes the ammo gets expensive after a while.

Yes, I know my finger is on the trigger.
The UMP/G36C are some of the best Submachine gun designs--ever. The Steyr TMP is just beautiful though- Think of a Glock doin' an Uzi:
We actually had to break into a car to seize one of those Airsoft G36s, as none of the officers could tell it wasn't real until we were inside the vehicle. Then we all had a good laugh.
