Simulated air to ground drops in the Gladden MOA on 141.925 at 0818 local. No callsigns, but clearly two distinct groups of aircraft.

Simulated air to air engagments by two groups of aircraft. Groups are using all areas of Gladden MOA on freqs 341.750 (areas V/X) and 251.250 (U/W/Y). One side-comms very weak on 143.750 at 0900 local.

Caught some good military air-to-air mock engagements in the Gladden X/V MOA around 1523 local. Heard a few new freqs become active as well.

139.000, 139,200, 149.100, 371.100 all carried "Spike" callsigns during engagements. (62n FS at Luke AFB).
294.900 was active very briefly. The last known use I have for this is "Snakeye Ops" out at the Barry M. Goldwater range. Doubt I was hearing that. May be a MOA controller frequency up here by Prescott.

Catching air to air comms on 148.875 in the Bagdad/Gladden MOA area. Units practicing LANTIRN targeting pods. Passed a coordinate of 34 09.799 N, 112 50.601 W as a reference point. This is the Family Dollar in Congress at the intersection of highways 89 and 71. Claimed to be locking up "18 wheelers pretty good" using the pod.

Hi, SantaFe, I do still monitor the MOA comms. I do practive "selective monitoring" and typically only scan those freqs when I know the MOA is active, though. Glad you are catching the same activity! On a somewhat related note, do you monitor any Civil Air Patrol frequencies for Arizona, and have you ever caught anything? I have them in a scan bank but have yet to hear any activity.

Hello Clover509. As matter of fact I'm monitoring the MOA right now. It seems it gets real busy in the afternoon around 1230 local with lots of training flights. The CAP went P25 after 9-11 and I haven't caught nothing myself from KPRC whatsoever even aero. Since their now digital I just don't have them in my scanners anymore. I can scan Digital on my Home Patrol but I do not have them selected.

Flights going into GLADDEN MOA use either 341.750 or 251.250 or 294.900 for unicom announcing entrance and exit to the MOA. A South exit is immediate contact with KLUF North Approach on 363.125 A North exit is contact with ZAB 298.900 then KLUF North Approach 363.125

GLADDEN MOA

0958 hrs. HELLION 23 (56 FW F-16C/D KLUF) called SNAKE EYE on 294.900 announcing he was RTB 20 miles North of TANKZ

Activity in Gladden U/W/Y MOA at 1029 local.

Air to air: 143.600, 148.875
