Does anyone have all the frequencies that are used by the Glendale, CA. PD copters for KBUR takeoffs, police operations, etc? Do they use the normal KBUR ground and tower frequencies or are there special frequencies for their helo operations? How do they talk to the PD base and the patrol cars when they are being used to track suspects or cars. Is it encrypted or in the clear? Thanks, Bob.

Can't help you with the PD part of it, but from the ATC side, yes, they will communicate with KBUR via the normal ground and tower frequencies. 123.9 for Ground. 118.7 & 132.325 for Tower.

OK. Thanks for the reply. . I was wondering if they had any special frequencies other than the standard ones. I'd sure like to find out if they have any special PD operations frequencies. Bob.

If I am not mistaken Glendale operates its air support unit jointly with Burbank.

Atleast in the past 118.575 was used as the "company base" frequency at BUR airport. Its in the Db, but dont know what activity it might see these days.

123.025 is a good frequency for media copters and PD in the L.A. area. 119.975 is the primary LAFD helicopter frequency.
