3G multimedia phone. Can't quite afford a 4G smart-phone. RR's scanner feeds don't work on it.

Would you know anything about TG's 4697 and 4695? I've only heard 4697 once, one of the sanitation guys was calling someone, got no reply, then switched to 4698, Sanitation 2. 4695 had traffic control during the Fiesta Bowl, but nothing since AFAIK.

Nope, but my guess would be public works... hence sanitation =)

4697 may be a sanitation supervisor channel. I'm not sure if his radio was on the wrong channel, or if the person he was trying to call just wasn't on that channel.

Try either Glendale's Foothills public safety sub-station/fire station 155 at 63rd and Union Hills, or the Peoria sports complex at 83rd and Paradise Ln, south of Bell. Those would be 2 likely locations for a Simulcast G site.

Thanks for the advice. I can tell you for sure it is not the 63rd avenue and Union Hills location, as I am regularly right next to that station. The sports complex is right near the known site, so I doubt that one would be used. According to the FCC, the one I mentioned earlier on is the only site. However, your logic of this site not being able to possibly serve all the areas (Avondale for instance) is very sound. Can the FCC database just be "wrong"? The mystery persists.

I can't hear them anymore and am finally thinking about trying a yagi. Any idea where a site or sites is for simulcast G so that I can point it correctly?

Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, the Simulcast G site is located on the White Tanks and the old Glendale system had a repeater on Shaw Butte. The 700mhz control frequences are listed in the RWC database page. If an officer is outside of the Simulcast G site, it will transmit off of the other RWC sites around the valley.

Does this help?

The White Tanks site is an intellirepeater linked to Simulcast G. As are the Quintero (in north Peoria, west of Lake Pleasant, north of Carefree Highway/SR74) and Estrella Mtn sites. They use seperate frequencies.

There has to be more sites to G than just the Peoria municipal complex at 83rd and Cinnabar. The sports complex is 4 miles north of there, and there was an old, now defunct, Simulcast E site there. Peoria's Pinnacle Peak sub-station should be another site

The FCC database had more than two locations. There were two call signs on at least one of the control channels. Putting the call signs into RR showed stickpins on a map, 3 for one and 6 for the other.
