• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hi all
New to here

So please don't shout.

OK here's my problem.

I have a GM300 radio model number M34GMC00D3AA
and i believe we bricked it by blanking the codeplug.
What I am looking for is a bog standard codeplug, unmodified.
438-470 8 channel 12.5khz spacing.

I now know don't touch it but too late we did.
I want to try to see if i can rescue the radio, now no harm in trying.

If you can help much appreciated.

Thanks
David

Did you save the original codeplug before you screwed with it?

As Jim stated, you always read and save your codeplug before doing anything else! This gives you a place to fall back to in times like this.

You need to clarify something for me, you blanked the codeplug or the logic board? Never heard of blanking the codeplug. If you blanked the logic board, that requires software we shall not discuss here. Repeater-Builder has info for re-initializing a blanked GM300 board.

I do not have a codeplug to help you. Check with Codeplugsupersite.com, they might have something.

To all
thanks for the help.

Erm "no" was playing with Radio Doctor just changing some channels here and there but some frequencies not quite playing ball.
All in 70cm band.

So trying things out on one of the menu options there is a clear item on one of the menus. now you ask cannot remember if it was logic, radio, codeplug or my brains.
So give it a try. why not
then all we got when reading radio was a blank radio, no freqs, no spacings, no serial number etc. Top box on radio doctor just has "Blank ???????" in it.

Sorry i cannot connect radio up at the moment to tell you what it definitely says.

Then did a bit of research and "Back up radio first" came top of lists.
We had saved a sample of the frequencies we had entered, and when we tried to reload them came up with I think error 58.

All i was trying to do was change the frequencies to 4 local repeaters and 4 simplex channels.
that was enough. not trying to push to 40 channels or anything like that.

Hope anybody can help.
Thanks
