gold plated connectors

i bought 2 24 kt gold bnc connectors the other day for my anntenna cables. Reception seems to be improved due to this change. does any one else use these for the rg58 cable and if so do you notice a difference in signal strength. im in chesco and can now hear lancaster berks and bucks clear.
