Gondola Rides in Wichita are not free!!!

Well, with all the rain we are seeing a lot of swolllen rivers and creeks. This seems to bring out modern day Tom Sawyers and the emergency crews. Wichita today announces if they have to rescue another Dumb A$$ out of the Arkansas River they will be arrested and Fined a heavy penelty to off set the cost of the expended man power.

Yesterday 3 kids was arrested for fabrcating a home made raft. They was succesfull in there trip but they did get fined for unlawful navigation. Today 2 middle aged men went over the Lincoln St damn in a small tube raft and got caught in the eddies leaving one man stuck on a service ladder and another capsized from the raft. Both were saved by WFD after a few hours.

THIS JUST IN!!! Yet again locle news now reports another DA is caught at 21st bridge... WPD and WFD are now on the scene.. Stay tuned for further details. :roll:

in San Antonio if your car drowns out on the street and the fire dept comes to get you out of the car it is $400.00

One of the tv stations did a story the other night that 80 fines were issued last summer and over half have not been paid.

Hey Gill...
Well I hate to admit it but when I was younger I too was a RIVER bRAT. I almost drowned when I was 13, Got busted for taking floating boat launch at 16, up the river to an Island called "Mead Island".

With Wichita making a River Front property in down town I predict there will be a lot of this crap continuing. Im glad too see them keeping an open water front but Im afraid at some point someone will suggest to fence it off for saftey reasons. And well, that aint to attractive.

Last operation like this in Salina, was 1 rescue, 1 body recovery. Kids will never learn!!!
