I have tried every handheld antenna I have in my collection.
Most of the police communications in my area are in this band. Even with the local PD just 5 miles away I am still only getting a signal strength
of 2 on my BCD396T. All local VHF frequencies come in full strength using my RH771 and two other antennas. Using the RH771 and two other antennas I still only get a maximum signal strength of 2 when monitoring
my local PD.

I looked at the handheld antenna reference chart at www.strongsignals.net and the maximum rating for this band is 4 while the VHF bands are 9 using different antennas. What is the best antenna for this range?

JMedley_1 needs an antenna with an SMA connector. The DG450BN has a BNC connector. I do have a 450-470MHz antenna with the correct SMA connector for the BCD396T. The part number is ATXDEXC450SM, and the price is $16.75. Email or call me to order.

FYI, I sell the Antenex DG450BN antenna for $28.15.

Hi,

Antenax is a great antenna site.

I am interested in the:

DG420BN 420 - 450 MHz 435 MHz 2.5dB 8.5" 1/2 Wave BN

I need a BNC connector. Is "BN" the same thing?
