I have been using a mobile antenna on my balcony so far, but I wonder if there is a good antenna that might clear the roof so I can get better reception, and that doesn't look too obvious? If that makes sense.

Look into discones. They are low profile, easy to install cover all bands. use a good cable with it and you will be very happy.

One way to obscure a vertical antenna is to put a Canadian flag on it. People will look and admire the flag and not even notice that an antenna is holding it up.

Discone is the way to go. They are low profile and to many they would not be recognized as an antenna.

I've drilled new hole to it so I can mount it horizontally instead, and it work perfectly from an 4th floor of my apartment facing downtown and Camp fortune it is an: RCA ANT751R gain of 7db VHF/UHF at a 65km range I was considering a discone antenna but unfortunately there was no point since I would not benefits it's 360o onmidirectional. any small HDTV UHF/VHF will do if mounted horizontally.

cheers

I live in a small town, kind of a rural area, so I think in my case a discone, multi-directional type might be the better choice.
