Good antenna for the 800mhz marks and other Frequencies

I purchased a radio shack 800mhz scanner antenna for my pro-96 scanner, well I work ab out 2 miles from the city and at times have a hard time getting the marks system etc frequencies, now bear in mind i have it on my duty belt when working and I suspect it might have a effect on it, but has anyone found any atennas for a ht that is 800mhz that you can buy other then radio shack that is very good, or can you get a motorola 800mhz antenna and somehow use a adaptor to get it to work on a bnc ? any sugessions I would appreciate, thanks again, Bill

First off I am thinking you're taking about MARCS, not marks... in Ohio? You may want to try the Ohio fourm because someone from anywhere except Ohio or the area will probably not know what MARCS is.
