When ever I get downtown and have some extra time I always run into the GoodWill store and see what they got. Usually straight for the electronics. Never found a scanner there, but have gotten some older multi band receivers there. Today as I looked around they had a whole blue storage tub full of cellphone stuff. I started to go thru the top layer and found a Energizer Cell phone charger. It had 2 lithium batteries in the pack. Needing some scanner batteries I decided to see how many they had. I ended up buying 6 of these cell phone chargers with batteries @.99 cents each. Dont know what Im going to do with the chargers but I got 12 new batteries for my scanners on the cheap and it helps a good community organization out. I have also bought RS clearance stuff there still new in the package. The girl working there told me the local stores are owned by Target and they get all kinds of new goodies in there. get a chance check out your local store. They also had a pair of Kenwood FRS type radio's for $12 bucks New in the blister pack. but I didnt need them........

I was in one of those goodwill shops last year down in Lancaster PA. They had a pair of those older Radio Shack 3 channel CB'S that took the crystals. They were marked $60 and were behind a glass case like it was a high end item. I almost fell over..lol... I was gona to offer them $5 just to see what the reply was but the better half was pulling me out of the store.

Should have taken a minute to explain to them about the radio's bet you would have had them, I have ran into that also, just ask them if it is reasonable they will sell it to ya. They are very aware of what they have and how long its been there, but often get there price from the internet or just knock some off of the original price.
