• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Need help from fellow radio reference members!

I found a listing for a...

XTS5000R Model 3
VHF 146-178 mHz
Flashcode: 100001-000102-4

Includes a Impres Battery + Charger, along with a Motorola Speaker Mic, and a Surveillance earphone

For $700

The flashcode fits my needs. Is this a good deal?

Q806/G806 IMBE / APCO-25 Digital Operation
H35/G48 Conventional Operation
Q471 (MCS only) messaging (MDC on trunking)
1B2 Future System Enhancement

For that price, I think you STOLE it ! LOL
Ya, that's a really good price. Most of the XTS5000's I've seen have been at LEAST $1,000 and up.

Q53 FCC FPP And Radio Cloning
Q446 Channel Announcement

ETA: removed incorrect info. See below.

Yes, it's CPS 10+ that will kill off the FPP without both options enabled. Or so I'm told.

If you have Q52 without Q53, and you program it with CPS R10 and above, FPP will go away. Since the flashcode that is posted only has Q53, then it will be fine using any version CPS as long as the PMTN4113A side port programming key is used.

That is correct. When a radio has Q53 only FPP, you'll need the side programming key just like the old JT1000's.. But yes, you can use current R12.01.00 CPS with it.

Q52 only = No key needed, but you have to stick with R09.xx.xx and under CPS
Q53 only = Programming key needed, and you can use current CPS
Q52+Q53 = No key needed, and you can use current CPS

Hope that helps...

Not hard at all to get. Any local Motorola shop with an MOL account can order one for you.. Or, if you set up an online account with Moto, you can order one youself..
