Nope, not really comparing, just trying some different things. Always been curious about loops, and all I've ever used has been wires so I wanted to mix it up a bit. Really opened my eyes recently when I went to a website with online SDRs and realized just how deaf my 40-ft wire was. I have the wide open spaces and the curiosity so I am just experimenting :)

The best antenna I have used for HF is the double bazooka in a V shape (inverted V) its cheap and easy to build out of any type of coax I use 75 ohm tv coax feeding it with 50 ohm RG8 mini and wow it works great ! lower noise over a wire antenna with more room to work. you can cover just about the whole band with low SWRs its also much more broader for out of band work the one I use for 75 meters is about 120ft long and it also works beautiful on the AM BC band I also have a wire inverted V but always switch to the bazooka on 5 mhz or lower well most of the time anyway :)
