Saw this on another board. Uniden has posted a firmware update on their website for users of the 796D that have been getting card error message. Didn't want to post the message here but it from was the Uniden Product Mgr. admitting that they have had trouble duplicating the problem in house but now believe a tech has found the fix and they've posted the update. I downloaded it but haven't tried it yet. I'm a Macintosh man but that's another story. Apparently a lot of consumers have gone to a lot of trouble because of this but I personally found it refreshing that Uniden confirmed the problem and kept trying till they found the fix.
