ebay if you are careful and read the item description very good and ask questions. Also check their feedback score. If they have lots of negative feedback, pass them up and look for another scanner.

All in all, ebay is pretty good.

Thanks for the replies.
I'm trying to avoid ebay, I would like to find a reputable company/companies that sell used, just in case I need to return an item, I've looked at about 2 dozen or more companies already and none sell used, I was supposed to buy the 246T a week or two ago but now I'm thinking digital, but can't afford new.

Hey Rocketman,

Universal Radio's used list has a Pro-96 in good condition for $329.95.
That seem's reasonable.

Take care

I'll put in a second for Universal Radio, I've ordered from them 3 times and have been happy each time. They have a repair department which checks all their used gear and they offer a 60 day warranty on everything except "as is" merchandise. I bought a used AOR 8200MkII from them a couple years ago and except for no original box, and a few handwritten notes in the owners manual, I couldn't tell it from new. I don't think their used listing is linked to their on line ordering, so the inventory is manually updated a couple times a week I think. What I'm trying to say here is call them to make sure somone else hasn't already bought it. The people have always seemed friendly and courteous to me.
Another place you might try is Scanners Unlimited

They don't list any used equipment, but it is a mom and pop type store that might take trades, I just don't know. Never ordered from them personally, but have always heard good words from those who have. Would only be a phone call, or you could e-mail them.

Good Luck, Sam
