Hi All New to the forum,
Its been a long time since i last had a scanner, was an Aor 1000ch handheld and worked very well, That is some 15 years ago, im looking to buy another but everything has changed so much in that time.
Im basically looking to spend less than £150, on a budget, dont even mind ebay one as long as a really well looked after radio, preferably the more channels for storing freqs the better and preferably one that covers everything band wise, am, fm, vhf, uhf etc.
My fave things to listen too tho would mainly be civvy Aircraft, Military aircraft, any military freqs as i live right next to a military base, Marine etc and anything that may be of interest, i can worry about all that later once i find an up to date UK scanner frequencie listing or book, No interest in authorities i know police cant be had, even 15 years ago they couldnt be received, dont know if other emergency services are gone as well but they would be interesting if still avail.
So, i know theres gonna be some guys on here who are well up to date on whats hot and whats not, i am pref looking for handheld but would consider a homebase one, Uniden homebase scanners can be bought real cheap these days, so im hoping you can give me some ideas on what is a really solid reliable scanner to buy in 2024 ?
Many thanks :)

Thanks for the reply, i bought a 125xlt in the end. Subscribed for a year to RRUK.
Just so you know, that Radio Reference UK site has nothing to do with RadioReference.com in any way. So if you have questions or issues about it they will need to be addressed with them.

I have a lot of digital ones that I listed in my sig, but if you are looking for a modern analog one, about 6 months ago I got a used WS1025 off ebay. To use for ham repeaters, weather radio & such, I really like it, mine is the 300 chan model, they also have a 200 chan model (don't know why). I gave $40 for mine, but I haven't seen any more of them that cheap on there, but I wouldn't give more than $60 for one. Whistler is still making them & they are $120 new, which I think is way too much for analog. It can even be PC programmed, but it's definitely also old school and can't even do alpha tags. I would also bet that there is a UK model of it to.
