It appears not even close to working. No one knows when full functionality will be available.

The notice on their website says "...At this time, we are unable to provide a definite timeline for when this data will be available..."

I am still able to get results by searching with call sign but single frequency search is not working again.

Slow progress, but at least their working on it. Which is more than I can say for most things the government does.

I had some modicum of success a couple of days ago by starting from this page which I somehow stumbled across (edit: which ScanPEI discovered simultaneously, it seems). It appears to be a different version than the one that you land on from the main SMS page.

I can even get virtual licenses, once I succeed at getting a result from either the Licensee Name search or the Call Sign search and thus have a license number to look up.

It's not fixed yet so it will be hit or miss for some until then. Searching by callsign is still working for me.

I had no problems searching for that in both Callsign Search and Virtual License Lookup.

Code:

It's right at the top of the Spectrum Management System Data Search page under " Spectrum Management System Notes!". http://sms-sgs.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/sms-sgs-prod.nsf/eng/h_00010.html. I guess we're to keep a watch on this as to when there are announcements of bugs being fixed and new updates to the system..

I tried the Call Sign / Station Name search as well and was able to get some hits on frequencies licensed <960 MHz as well. So the message isn't exactly accurate...but then again, with the current state of the system, it appears not even they know what works and doesn't.

I never did the survey. Would have been pointless anyway. They probably realized every response would be "0 - Extremely Dissatisfied" and simply pulled the plug on it.

=========

Maybe we should all send an email to (i) the Minister responsible, (ii) through the forum on the Contact Us page and (iii) our local MPs and communicate our displeasure with the way GC is spending our tax dollars. On second thought, that would be as pointless as doing the survey too :) If this happened in the industry I work in, heads would roll.

There was a 'do you have a suggestion' on IC website... I said, get rid of this crap and put spectrum direct back...

Well I see no progress yet they should have taken a lesson from the FCC much better and as far as the survey is concerned ? (Please help us improve the findability of this content by participating in our usability testing. You'll be asked to complete a few simple tasks. Don't worry, it won't take more than 10 minutes of your time) it said the project is closed what a joke

Industry Canada had that, like a mini treasure hunt.

It just tested navigation of the site, not use of the actual system. If they had tested the system it would all have been fixed (at least the parts they were testing)

what the bleep this is down for maintenance this weekend, I have been checking nearly every day this week and still no luck. I think if after this weekend if it still does not working we should start a petition to the Minister responsible for this, and try to get some action happening. And I see TAFL is not updated (11/23).

Spectrum Manglement is throwing 503s tonight or I'd look it up. What are we looking for - 451-454 MHz freqs, DMR emissions, and a company called Turris? Or will it be under GOTRBO? I'll look tomorrow when it (supposedly) comes back online.
