Goodbye to the Amateur Radio 900 Meg (35cm) Band

Say goodbye to 900 / 35cm guys. Two very large cities here in Minnesota are putting high powered city wide traffic signal communication transmitters throughout the ham band. Watch for fiberglass 5/8's wave antenna's going up at an intersection near you.

If they install this Doesn't it have to be below 5 watts though? THen they do not have to license the freq.

ummm... who's the primary in 900? I don't think amateur is the primary user, more likely it's a secondary user, with unlicensed low power being primary.. just a thought... I don't use 900..
