Goodyear deactivated their analog dispatch 856.9625 and went digital. Did they join RWC and if so, any idea their site and talk group?

4998 *may be* channel 2

Etc. I haven't heard anything other than 4999, so I'm just making an educated guess about any additional channels, given the typical pattern seen in talkgroup assignments on the RWC.

And I'm hearing them 5x5, TG 4999 on West Valley.

LOL, ok I wasn't sure if u were doing an RS(T) or not there. To me "loud and clear" would be 59(9 if cw). I'm a heavy CW Op and am use to having my RST's with 3 digits. Thx

Yea, voice would be just 59, since the T is dropped. I don't know where exactly 5x5 came from, but, IIRC, I've just seen it refered to as being an old phrase meaning loud & clear.

It was a 2 part scale the 1st was signal level the 2nd was clarity, you could be 5 x 3 where your signal is solid but you're marginal to understand or 2 x 5 where you have little signal but still able to copy you perfectly. I remember this term from 30 or 40 years ago back when (mostly hams) ran the big police radio systems and their radio checks were always delivered in this format. I guess today with everything being digital the signal is irrelevant and only the quality is considered.
