Ellijay Hamfest - August 9th 2008!
This is to remind you that the Ellijay Ham Fest, sponsored by the Ellijay
Amateur Radio Society (EARS) is coming up on Saturday, August 9, 2007. It's
"Biggest Little Ham Fest in Georgia."
This year, for the first time, we will regretfully be charging $5.00
admission to the ham fest. The good news is that this fee includes two
tickets, one for our General Prizes including some great ARRL publications,
and one ticket for our Grand Prizes which will be drawn for later in the ham
fest day. Inside tables are still FREE (limited number) and the tailgate
spaces are FREE (including under the Pavilion).
What more can you ask for?
SETUP: Indoor: Friday Aug. 8, 6PM - 9PM; Saturday, Aug. 9, from 6AM
Tailgate and Covered Pavilion: Sat., Aug 9, from 6AM
GENERAL ADMISSION: Gates open 7AM - 2PM
MORNING COFFEE: 50¢ Donation per cup; DONUTS 50¢ Donation EACH (While they
last).
LUNCH: Bar-B-Que Lunch will be available on site provided by Georgia Smoke
& Spice. Excellent Bar-B-Que!
Upon arrival, we ask that each attendee bring their tickets to the inside
registration table. Since you don't have to be present to win our prizes,
we'll need your call sign and a contact telephone number. You can obtain
additional Grand Prize tickets at the registration table by making a
donation to the club. The larger your donation, the more ticket you
receive. Ticket donations are as follows: 1 for $1, 4 for $3, 7 for $5, 15
for $10, 25 for $15 or 30 for $20
This year, our prizes include:
4th Prize - Vanco SWR-1 SWR / Field Strength Meter
3rd Prize - WT-5120 Atomic Projection Clock & WX Station
2nd Prize - Yaesu FT60R (Dual Band HT)
1st Prize - Yaesu FT7800R (Dual-Band Mobile)
The ham fest will be held in the Ellijay Lion's Club facility (same as last
year) located at 1729 S. Main St (Old Hwy 5 South), Ellijay, GA. We will
have signs around town to direct you. Our TALK-IN: 145.170 (-600 kHz; PL
100 Hz)
