Hello all,
I recently got myself a Uniden BCD396T to start doing some scanning in my local city of Waterbury, CT. I got it used, but in very good shape, and with some extras. All of the firmware updates have been done and I registerd it to Uniden.

I used the software to make a file for my local police here in Waterbury. I have been picking them up, but it is spotty. Some transmitions come in crystal clear, and other come in a white noise (that is the correct term for static yes?). What would make some come in like that?

It kinda sounds like you didn't program the system as a trunk system, and you are hearing the control channel as you scan. However, the city of Waterbury uses a LTR Multinet system, and that cannot be tracked by any scanner. Here is the link for New Haven County from our database...

New Haven County, Connecticut (CT) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

I'm unsure about what 'program' you used - the scanner has many that support it, and hopefully you didn't use Scancat Lite Plus.

Which of the systems on that page is the one you programmed? A few more specifics and folks can generally get you going. 73 Mike

I used the Uniden Software to program it. Here is what I have setup:

I don't know a whole lot about what some of the settings are. What does Hold and Delay time mean?

If I recall when I did set this up a while ago, I read somewhere that Waterbury's radios were all kinds of jacked up like everything in the city. Because of that, you had to make it a conventional system. I am very new to this stuff though! Just tried to go along with what I was reading, and what I could figure out.

Thank you for the help.
