Gounding

I have my Scantenna grounded, but only to ward of static. I don't know that it improves reception? I pick up lots and lots with it though.

Thanks for the info. I do have my antennas grounded, but the units I don't. I also have lightning arrestors inline. I just wondered if grounding the unit was the key to great reception, along with other things.

Grounding the unit probably wont make any difference in reception. Are they base units, AC powered? Grounding may be helpful for safety, but I wouldn't trust it in a storm. At a minimum I'd use a sturdy grounding switch but best of all is disconnecting the antenna and power during a storm.
