I just bought the BC GPSK, and set it up in my car. I plugged it in to the serial port, as well as the car power and it isnt recognized by my BCD536HP. The red light blinks like its receiving signal, but the GPS doesnt show up on the scanner. Tried to hook it up to my BCD436HP, and it wouldn't locate either. Still blinks though. Any thoughts or help? It's set at 4800 right now.

Try resetting it to 9600 baud, cycle power on the scanner, and see if GPS shows on the screen.

I've been driving around all day with it. Still not working. The "GPS" wouldn't show up on the screen if its plugged in with no signal?

True, maybe a connection issue

Disconnect GPS from scanner.

Enter the zipcode of 90210. Confirm "things" for Hollywood load.

Reconnect the GPS device and confirm all connections (data and power) are "solid".

See if "things" for your local area begin to load. If they do, that's confirmation GPS is working - the display on the scanner could be "messed up".

(I'm presuming you didn't modify anything on the GPS device, such as cutting off the 12 volt connector, so it could be wired directly into a car circuit. That's not good because the GPS actually works on lower voltage and there is something in the plug that lowers voltage.)
