I have a 436HP and I have read I should be able to connect it to the internal GPS in my Yaesu FTM-100DR to use the location control features. Has anyone done this and how well has it worked? Also what configuration and sources of cable connections did you use? I tried my friend Google, but my search this time did not yield much info this time. Thanks!

On quick perusal, I can find no indication that the FTM-100DR has standard NMEA-0183 output (neither hardware standard RS422 nor NMEA sentences).

In looking at the operating manual around page 110, connecting external devices, it references for GPS output. It says the rdevice receiving the data must be capable of receiving in the NMEA-0183 format, which suggests the gps output is in the NMEA format. I'll have to do a little more research it looks like.
