I'm using gqrx on a MacBook to capture NOAA weather satellite signals to an audio file(.wav).
I then ingest this file into WXtoIMG to convert it to an image. I've attached a screen capture of the resulting image. As you can tell...something is wrong. Was wondering if anyone else is attempting to do this and if you have any suggestions as to what might be wrong. The signal was very strong but the audio file was too large to upload.

Also...any howto articles that explain this process are appreciated.

Jimmy

I have used that program with SDR#, but not GQRX. It appears by the screenshot that the volume is way to low, it should be about 70%-80% and a green bar to decode. It might also be that the recording was low quality. There is somewhat of a tutorial with the program, but vague on how to really get it working. Do you have a program that tracks the signal as the satellite moves?

I've used WXtoImg along with SDRSharp with good results

For tracking the satellites I use: LIVE REAL TIME SATELLITE TRACKING AND PREDICTIONS: NOAA 19 NOAA 18 NOAA 15 NOAA 17 SAUDISAT 1C

The results are shown below.

So why are you recording the wav file and not just decoding on the fly so that you can see the pic appearing? Worked for me many years ago. Looks to me like there was no signal in your wav file. Just because you can hear strong audio doesn't mean it's being recorded.
