69 yesterday
I do not think I will be able to get the audio out to speakers with this conf.
my experience tells me audio out put should say something else other than
pulse audio.
there are a couple of good Linux guys on this forum

Within pulseaudio mixer you need to make sure you are directing the audio in and out to the right places. If you click on the audio destination boxes you get a pick list drop down of choices.

yes that is pretty much it.
under pavucontrol playback gqrx out putting to virtual sink and dsdplus.exe out putting to built in audio
recording dsdplus monitiering virtual sink
but in terminal after launching
audio in device #1
audio out device #1
so dsd is telling me it is out putting the audio to the place where it is listening
audio out needs to say something different
but I am not Linux savey enough
so it appears I need another direction in alsa

I assume you installed a Virtual Cable? It won't work without it. (Virtual_Sink) Ok I see you have one we posted at the same time.

DSD+ in and out looks ok - it is pulsaudio settings which directs to the right place.

Audio recording does not seem like the right place, speakers do.

So hit the DSD+ selection box and see other choices, it should be speakers.

In my shot that would be (click on) the gray box that says "USB Speakers Analog Stereo, " that will drop down a choice menu like a pick list select speakers in the choices.

oh ok
then you mean I can run vac or vb cable on Linux mint

NO! It does the same thing as those but no - not those... it is puleaudio version of a Virtual Cable (Virtual_Sink) you need to install that.

Like I said earlier you need to have it or it won't work.

Search for Linux DSD+ for dummies, that article shows you how to install Virtual_Sink. Just follow the instructions and you should be fine.

This is what you need to do

Open a Pulseaudio file with this command

sudo nano /etc/pulse/default.pa

At the bottom of the file add this line:

load-module module-null-sink sink_name=Virtual_Sink sink_properties=device.description=Virtual_Sink

It should be all on one line like so:

Make sure to save it.

Re boot - you now have a VB Cable.

After you have Virtual_Sink installed, direct your gqrx audio output to it.

Launch DSD+, it will say audio in and out are both pulseaudio.

Launch pulaudio volume control playback tab (see my image above and make sure you have selected the right audio routing) DSD+ to speakers and gqrx from Virtual_Sink

Then what I do is....

Shut down Linux.

Start up Win10

... and do the same sort of thing easily and far better using proper tools for the job like FMP24 feeding DSD+ via tcp connection :)

(Linux peeps.... hold the flaming... this was my humor component post, ya know like HA HA Harf Harf)

I know that OP25 cannot be beat for audio quality it is why I take advantage of having multiple O/S so I can take advantage of SDR tools no matter what O/S)

thanks for the KISS advice
it did work, after I get the launching order down on the acer I will put the ssd on the I-5
putting in -rv and -fa gave me integrity on 3 dmr modes
I have learned my lesson on chasing these digital freqs
then I will move back to d-star
if you just knew how many years I chased T-III when my county friendly ran off the dome for rodeo
