Anyone been through the area recently and been able to verify if it's online or not? Haven't had a chance to make it out that way since moving back to DFW a few weeks ago.

I’m down in the area today. So far, no hint of a signal on any of the three sites.

Gotta go down to the DPS office in Tolar today, planning to take my SDS 100 and see if I find any control channels up yet. Will report back with my findings.

Just found this, anyone heard if this is supposed to be an additional site for the Hill County system, or its own standalone system?

I was down in Bluff Dale yesterday. Still no activity on this system. No control channels or anything else.

I’ll check again in a few weeks.

Saw these going up yesterday at the Stephenville tower. Looks like they are making progress toward getting the Stephenville site up and running.

So far no control channels still, at least that I can receive from Johnson county
I was down in Stephens County last weekend, visiting a long time friend. While there, I was getting a signal from the Stephenville site.

So, this past Thursday, I took another friend with me, and we had lunch @ Jasper's in Bluff Dale. While I couldn't get the Chalk Mountain site from there (there's a large hill right behind Jasper's that blocks a signal from the Glen Rise area), I was receiving signals for both Stephenville & Hood County.

We detoured over to that picnic area off Hwy 67, right at Chalk Mountain, & I ran Pro96com on my laptop to get the data. That's been submitted, and the system has now been entered.

Somewhat surprising (at least to me) is that the Stephenville site is showing as 'Site 001". The Hood County simulcast is labeled as site 010. The Glen Rose (Chalk Mountain) site is site 003. I would have expected the Hood County site to have been labeled as 001, with the other sites as 002 & 003.

The Stephenville was showing as being in a site trunking mode. The Glen Rose & Hood County sites both showed as 'connected'. No activity showed up on any of the three sites while I was capturing information.

I'm down in that area every month or two, so hopefully I'll be able gather some talkgroup IDs once it begins to get some activity.

Checked for activity this evening while visiting my parents in Johnson County. In the 20-30 minutes I was monitoring the Hood County Simulcast site on GRRN on UniTrunker, I did not see any voice or affiliation activity. Still shows the Stephenville and Chalk Mountain sites as peers. Couldn't receive the control channels for the other two sites from my location off of CTP and FM 917. The system is quite tough to receive from a distance.

Last Wednesday, I spent several hours in the Bluffdale/Granbury area, with one scanner (my SDS100) parked exclusively on the new system. I did not capture any activity either, during that time, from neither the Stephenville nor Hood County sites. Where I spent much of the time in Bluffdale was at Jaspers, which is a little west from Bluffdale, maybe 11 miles from the Stephenville site, with nothing between my location & the site. There is a fair sized hill, back behind the cafe, that would block any signal from Chalk Mountain. But nothing heard on the system at all; everything was on their usual Vhf & Uhf channels.

Just heard a CareFlite Med Crew member asking their dispatch for information on the channel they were to contact ground units on. He specifically said he understood they were on new 700 channels. She called the county and replied back, yes they are on new channels but they could try one of the old channels, and maybe make contact. Just a heads up.

They must have recently activated it. When I was down in that area back in July, on a weekday, there was no activity on any of the three sites, not even an occasional 'radio check'. All the sites' control channels were up, just no voice traffic.
