Does anyone know what radio channels are used by the structural fire units at Grand Canyon National Park?

iirc Grand Canyon has 2 or more 'fire departments'

the wildland fire department has 1 or 2 helos and a couple of wildland fire engines ... they are staffed fulltime in the summers ... they apparently have their own radio net

the structural fire department has 1 engine + 1 rescue + 1 concession engine at the south rim ... and ... 1 engine at the east end ... and ... 1 engine at the north rim ... all of these units are staffed by 'on call' staff ... unknown what radio channels they are heard on

for EMS iirc there are 1 or 2 contract ambulances on the south rim and 1 NPS ambulance east and 1 NPS ambulance north ... maybe they use different radio channels from each other ... maybe south rim uses med net and north rim uses law net etc

the Park "fire" helos are also used for EMS work so maybe they are dispatched on the wildfire channel but operate on the med channel or tac channel when doing ems or sar work

there is also a SAR truck on the south rim ... maybe the north rim also ... maybe they use the law net

wouldn't this be more appropriate in the AZ forum?
Could be either or I think. Grand Canyon is a federal entity as much as it is in Arizona.

OP, looks like this might have your answer.

I agree, it could go either way. I suggested Arizona forum a it would seem likely to get someone in a geographical region forum who might have specific local knowledge of the ellipsis laden questions as posted.

...maybe.

99% sure that the fire net listed in the RRDB is the wildland fire net ... not sure what channels are used by structural fire and sar etc

there is a 2018 annual report for the 'Emergency Services division' on GC website ... structural fire is listed with SAR and EMS ... wildland fire is not mentioned

also found some info about Xanterra FD ... they seem to have 2 firefighters and a captain .. plus Engine 22 at the South Rim fire station ... and they have their own fire/security radio channel

wildcad shows GC Wildland Fire has 3 engines, helo, and water tender on south rim ... and 1 engine on north rim

the total count seems to be ... 4 structural engines, 4 wildland engines, 1 rescue, 2 sar trucks, 1 or 2 helos, 1 wildland water tender and 4 ambulances across the entire park

Crews don't show up on an apparatus list. Fires at Grand Canyon are often not accessible by apparatus. I don't know how many or the locations of fire hand crews at Grand Canyon anymore. I used to as I worked in fire management on the Kaibab National Forest, which borders the park at both the north rim and south rim. I took some training courses with some members of those crews, but decades have passed since that time.

In the eastern U.S. it seems as though, no matter what state, federal frequencies are discussed in the Federal Forum. In the west we usually put posts like this one in the individual states, so this would post would be more effective there.
