Hello all! My name is Andrew, and I'm a student at UND in Grand Forks, majoring in Air Traffic Control. I have an old Pro-96 that I bought in the early 2000's and am wondering if that scanner would be able to receive some of the P25 frequencies for Grand Forks, namely the University police department. I am from Virginia, and have done some digging on this, but haven't really found a definitive answer. I've heard that sometimes if there is clutter in the way of the receiver, you won't be able to pick up P25. I'm pretty sure that the transmitter that UPD uses is no more than 100 yards from my apartment, so that clutter shouldn't be an issue. I should also mention, that I don't currently have any programming software. I at one point many years ago was using Win96, but when I switched from a windows laptop to a mac book pro, I wasn't able to transfer the program. Any help of any kind would be appreciated. The best way to reach me with an answer would be through my email, which is theaviatorguy@aol.com. Thank you very much for reading and helping, and I hope to hear something back soon! - Andrew Robinson

As far as i know you just enter them in the scanner and it knows its dig when they talk.. If you can choose nfm that works better for dig. To find the 800 mhz control channel all you have to do is enter one freq at a time and listen for a constant buzzing sound and that will be the one...

Is it sad that I don't know what nfm means?? I have some of them in there now and tried scanning with it set to "MO" in the upper right hand corner of the display. I also had it trunked..i think lol

If you are on the control ch. It should say 6-18 or 6-018 somewhere as that is the site number...nfm is narrow fm
