Hello all! My name is Andrew, and I'm a student at UND in Grand Forks, majoring in Air Traffic Control. I have an old Pro-96 that I bought in the early 2000's and am wondering if that scanner would be able to receive some of the P25 frequencies for Grand Forks, namely the University police department. I am from Virginia, and have done some digging on this, but haven't really found a definitive answer. I've heard that sometimes if there is clutter in the way of the receiver, you won't be able to pick up P25. I'm pretty sure that the transmitter that UPD uses is no more than 100 yards from my apartment, so that clutter shouldn't be an issue. I should also mention, that I don't currently have any programming software. I at one point many years ago was using Win96, but when I switched from a windows laptop to a mac book pro, I wasn't able to transfer the program. Any help of any kind would be appreciated. Do you by chance know if there is a certain way I have to program the P25 channels into the Pro-96? Thanks!
