GRAND COUNTY - Firefighters have been battling a multi-alarm fire burning in a condominium complex in Grand Lake
The condominium complex, Shoreline Landing, is located on Shoreline Lane. It includes two buildings with as many as 20 condos.
The fire started at around 5:30 a.m. and six hours later crews were doing mop up operations. Firefighters from Grand Lake, Granby, East Grand Lake and Hot Sulphur Springs responded.
9NEWS Reporter Matt Renoux said eight condos are affected with four considered a complete loss. Two other condos have heavy damage and the remaining two are said to be OK.
Officials say many of the condos are second homes for the owners and only one resident lives there full time. That resident was able to escape without injury.
Smoke from the fire could be seen all around Grand County and local resident Barb Hammon witnessed the fire.
"There were firemen on the roof with chainsaws. Early on the flames were certainly a storey above the roof when I first saw it," Hammon said.
Officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation and added that no one was injured.
9NEWS will have more on this developing story as details become available.
