I was in Grass Valley for a week (9-21-11 to 9-25-11) and I never heard a word from Grass Valley Police once.I was wondering what Freq. they are on.I have 154.860 DC 466 any one know Thanks.

In mid-July they applied to the FCC to replace 154.86 with 155.7075, but that modification is still in "Pending Status 2." Whether they've jumped the gun and started using it already (which I seriously doubt), or gone to one of their other frequencies to stop their interfering with Napa County fire I don't know. Either their Litton Hospital or Sierra College sites should cover the city adequately, and they got along on simplex for many years, although they didn't have to get into the Brunswick basin back then.

Thanks for the update for G,V.P.D.I lived in Grass Valley for 43 years and never had any problems with the Police Freqs Thanks agin Mardor.
My thought is that they might be using either their Tac frequency 155.94 or the repeater uplink, 158.775 in simplex mode for dispatching. They're both licensed for 50 watts out, with 158.775 from a tower at the police station, and 155.94 up on the hill at Sierra College. The latter would seem to be preferable coverage-wise.

When I was in Grass Valley in Sept. I listened to 155.9400 & 158.775 and got nothing.Like KMA367 said they might be using 155.7075.

Could it be possible that they are still operating on 156.000? This was their old repeater output and was plagued by interference from solano fire. They have been scheduled to change repeaters. Not sure if they did yet?
Already moved to 155.7075?
mardor, I've sent you a boring private message if you want to look at it.
Guys, a friend who lives a little ways outside GV tells me this morning that he's "absolutely" hearing GVPD repeated on 155.7075, though his scanner rounds that to 155.705. Also heard it just above, on 155.71 (no doubt a relatively older scanner). So it seems they've gotten an "ESP" Authorization to make the switch. Can anyone confirm it?

More than 3 months after applying for it, and nearly a month after they apparently started using it, GVPD finally got approval today for 155.7075 (analog narrowband), as their dispatch frequency (replacing 154.86).
ULS License - Public Safety Pool, Conventional License - WYF924 - GRASS VALLEY, CITY OF
Uplink (158.775) and tac (155.94) frequencies remain the same.
