my GRE 400 produces a steady rf noise that locks up my Unidens and cuts their sensitivity. Especially around 359.4 am
pegs the meter. However, the 400 appears to operate normally. The 400 crunches the railroad freqs for me. tried moving the scanner to another floor, no luck.
thoughts???

thanks

Is it a 400 or 410? Does turning the scanner off stop the interference while the AC adapter is plugged in? If you unplug the AC adapter from the wall, do you still get the interference? Exactly what time and how long is the interference?

I am running PSR-400, PSR-410, PSR-600, SDS-100 all together and no issues. However, they are all connected to an outside antenna system. If I use a "rubber" antenna on any unit, they pick up tons of stuff mostly from nearby PCs.

base unit psr410. happens as long as 410 power is on. never did this before. no, does not happen if wall wart IS still plugged and scanner is OFF. using diamond srh789 ant.on 410. If 410 off, does not occur, rf stops. (unidens OK) occurs every time and lasts as long as 410 is ON.

Thanks

tried removing ant. no luck. 410 is a standalone, no software or puter control. whatever is causing this, is internal

If the 410 is on a different floor with the antenna is removed, it sounds like the scanner may be radiating a signal into the power line and your house wiring has become a transmitting antenna. I would still replace the AC adapter to see if that could be the problem. The AC adapter may be using a switching power supply which can cause wideband interference. Do you have another compatible adapter? If not, try running the scanner on battery power to see if the interference stops.
