Hello Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone had messed with the Advanced settings for the PSR-500 on the MECA system. I looking for tweaks that will cause the radio to recieve better. These adjustments will be made to the "P25 Settings, HD2 Settings, and Expert Settings".

Personally, I have found by adjusting the Noise Threshold to 40 and the digital qualify time to 65 it helps...

Has anyone else messed with these settings?

Not yet... I'm going to leave all that at defaults until the MECA system "settles down" (the engineers are done tweaking it). I think getting too involved in this would be "chasing one's tail" at the present time.

I haven't had to change any of the expert settings on mine, but I was wondering exactly what those settings do. How did changing those settings affect your reception. Did you change them one at a time to observe what they do?

An extensive list with explainers is either in the Wiki or on Google - search "psr500 expert settings"

In the end - it's not the expert settings that will make a difference.
