I turned my scanner on a couple of days ago, and was surprised to find this message on the screen "Nothing Enabled", is this a sign my scanner is going on the fritz? I did absolutely nothing to it that would have erased the memory.

Remember that these scanners are mini computers...................re check your settings and see if it works

Sometimes you need a re-boot

"NOTHING ENABLED" means that you do not have any scan lists turned on. You will notice that the screen shows all dots, no numbers. Just select one or more scan lists in the scan mode by pressing any number key from 1 to 0, or Function 1 to Function 0. This should correct the problem.

"NOTHING ENABLED" means that you do not have any scan lists turned on. . . .
Not true. While the most likely cause might very well be the failure to have any scanlists enabled there are other possible situations. The "Nothing Enabled" error will occur if a scanlists is turned on but empty (contains zero objects). The "Nothing Enabled" error will occur if a scanlist is turned on, contains objects but all of the objects in the scanlist are locked out.

Yes, TES, if there were no objects in the scanlists that were enabled, it would also return that error message. However, the most likely cause to check first would be that there was not at least one scanlist enabled.

Older scanners would not allow you to lock out all scanlists (banks), but most newer scanners will allow that.

You can search for objects that are locked out by pressing PGM, EDIT, FIND, L/Out. The results will show what objects are locked out, and allow you to unlock them individually at that time if you wish.
