GRE PSR-800 code 5-03

I have a hand held scanner throwing a code on the display screen. Its a PSR-800 EZ scan The radio always stays in 1 spot hooked up to a USB port . The other day I noticed it wasn't working looked on the screen and it displays " error detected please see user guide for more information" Code: 5-03 . Me and the wife cant find this any where. I keep NIMH batteries in it and the switch is on NIMH mode. Someone please help

Copied directly from the manual:

"05-03 CONFIG__.BIN file error Reformat the MicroSD card using the PC Application “Prepare SD Card for use” option. Replace the MicroSD card if the problem persists."

Means your card has gone bad and you will need to reformat it. Use the "Prepare SD card..." function in the EZ scan program. I would suggest using a card reader instead of trying to do it while the card is in the scanner.

If that will not work download thsi program https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/ and use it to reformat your card. If neither will work than it is time for a new card.

If you look through the forums, you will see this is a common problem with the 800.

The card reader works much faster and I have fried a couple of brand new cards using the scanner. I've gone through 3 or 4 cards with mine. I would always carry a spare card formatted exactly like the one in the scanner with me so in case it happened while I was away from my computer I would have a backup.

I tryed tonight with just the radio it wouldnt work hopefully the wife will p/u an sd reader tommarro
